Stephen Sebring, the same director that gave us the 2008 documentary Patti Smith: Dream Of Life, has once again teamed up with the artist to film a new concert documentary Horses: Patti Smith & Her Band.
The new doco recounts one of the final shows on Smith’s tour, celebrating the 40th anniversary of her 1975 album Horses.
Check out this new footage from upcoming concert documentary, recounting Patti Smith’s iconic 2015 show at LA’s Wiltern Theatre.
In this new minute-and-a-half trailer, you’ll see footage of Smith tearing through her track Land, backstage shots of the entire band, and a brief appearance from an ecstatic Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers).
Sebring and Smith first met in 1995, and the New York-based director spent 11 years working on his previous film Dream Of Life, which won the “Excellence in Cinematography Award: Documentary” at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival.
The new flick will debut shortly at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival, with Smith and her band performing a short set following it’s screening.
The full doco will begin streaming on Apple Music beginning May 22.
For now, watch the new trailer above.
