Watch the first official trailer for Netflix’s ‘Space Force’, featuring Steve Carell

While we all have our preferences when it comes to Hollywood stars and celebrities, it is fair to say that Steve Carell is an exception, because it’s almost impossible not to like him.

From getting his chest waxed in The 40-Year-Old Virgin to causing cringe-worthy scenes of awkward horror in The Office, Steve Carell is a true talent and a genuinely likeable guy. So naturally, we are excited about his next show.

Steve Carell Space force

Netflix has just debuted the first trailer for Space Force which blasts Carell straight into space for a new show full of fun and dysfunction.

Space Force sees Carell co-write the show with Greg Daniels who is responsible for injecting a bunch of funny stuff into shows like The Office, Saturday Night Live, The Simpsons, Parks and Recreation, and King of the Hill.

The show’s premise? Carell unexpectedly becomes the boss of a freshly formed sixth branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, created in response to the president’s desire to militarise the Earth’s hemisphere. The result? A whole lot of chaos and a whole lot of laughs, with some cool space themed visuals too.

In the first official trailer released by Netflix, we see a familiar awkward leadership style, much like a Michael Scott, but rather than the pressure of a humble paper company, Carell is leading the Armed Forces in space. Of course, the trailer wouldn’t be complete without a peek of the show’s incredible supporting cast which includes the likes of Lisa Kudrow, John Malkovich, Diana Silvers, Tawny Newsome, and Ben Schwartz.

Naturally, we’ll be watching Space Force as soon as it gets released by Netflix on May 29 at 5:00 pm, AEST. (Yep, we know the exact time). For now, though, we will settle with watching Carell blow shit up in the trailer a couple hundred more times. Check it out below.
