Who were the most played artists on triple j in 2017? The station reveals their top 50

As the year draws to a close, Aussie radio heavyweights triple j have unveiled their top 50 most played artists of 2017.

The list sits comfortably for the hometown cohort, with 31 of the 50 artists being Australian. Hats off to triple j for keeping it local, especially as the station finds a stronger and stronger international audience.

2017 is nearly wrapped, and so is another full year of programming from the legends over at triple j. Now, let’s see who they spun the most.

Claiming the pole position is Lorde, who also enjoys the sole Kiwi-occupied spot on the list. Thundamentals hit in at number two, making them the most played Australian artist on the station this year.

ARIA favourites Gang of Youths, the ever-interesting Methyl Ethel, Brisbane four piece The Jungle GiantsMeg Mag plus The Smith Street Band were the other Aussies who enjoyed some top 10 real estate. Meanwhile, gigantic 2017 performances from Dune Rats, San Cisco, Polish Club and Winston Surfshirt also bled into the chart.
