30 years already?
Thirty years after revolutionising instrumental hip-hop, DJ Shadow is celebrating the landmark anniversary of his debut masterpiece Endtroducing with a deluxe reissue and an extensive world tour.
The 1996 album, famously constructed entirely from samples and recorded across San Francisco studios, became a blueprint for modern electronica, influencing everyone from Radiohead to Deftones.

The re-release arrives September 18, featuring all twelve original tracks including classics ‘Midnight In A Perfect World’ and ‘Building Steam With A Grain Of Salt’.
To mark the occasion, the producer, real name Joshua Davis, will embark on a 22-date tour kicking off in San Diego this September, with North American stops spanning coast to coast before a prestigious December finale at London’s Barbican.
The milestone comes hot on the heels of his ‘Mo’Wax Singles’ box set earlier this year and 2024’s ‘Action Adventure’ album.
With its lo-fi textures and ambient soundscapes, Endtroducing remains a testament to sample-based artistry, proving that three decades later, Shadow’s visionary sound still casts an indelible shadow over contemporary music.
