If one thing is certain, A$AP Rocky’s escapade in Sweden has been one in a million.
It’s been a few weeks since A$AP Rocky was freed from Swedish jail after being detained and US President Donald Trump has something to say about it all.
Donald Trump has been reportedly trying to make A$AP Rocky publicly thank him for speaking out on his behalf. But the rapper has been leaving him with a cold shoulder.
It has been reported that Rocky’s manager had promised a public thank you from Rocky to President Trump who had been a vocal advocate for Rocky’s release. This is after the rapper and his entourage were arrested and found guilty of assaulting a 19-year old on the streets of Stockholm late at night in June of this year.
In an overall assessment, the court found that the assault had not been of such a serious nature that a prison sentence must be chosen. However, many have argued that the high-profile nature of the case and Trump’s involvement did come into play.
But A$AP Rocky has apparently stopped answering Trump’s calls and refusing to thank him for stepping in. While the public statement might have been used as a move to strengthen Trump’s relationship with the African-American community, Rocky’s ghosting could just have the opposite effect.
A$AP Rocky was detained for over three weeks before being charged. However, he will not return to prison but instead serve a suspended sentence and pay all related damages.
