Apple launches new karaoke feature and it got us thinking about our favourite karaoke movie scenes

Apple has unveiled a new karaoke feature, Apple Music Sing, so you can take over the spotlight when listening to your fave tunes.

Ever wanted to have your own spotlight moment while streaming your favourite track, but the lead singer was just…too loud? Well, now you can just turn them down with Apple’s new karaoke-esque feature, Apple Music Sing.

Available for millions of songs on Apple Music, it allows you to adjust the vocals on a track, and also displays real-time lyrics so you never get lost. You can even switch between different lyrics views, depending on whether you’re in the mood to sing backup or take the lead like the superstar you are.

The new feature is available on iPhone, iPad, and 4K Apple TV. As stated by Oliver Schusser, vice-president of Apple Music and Beats, “Apple Music’s lyrics experience is consistently one of the most popular features on our service. We already know our users all over the world love to follow along to their favorite songs, so we wanted to evolve this offering even further to enable even more engagement around music through singing. It’s really a lot of fun, our customers are going to love it.”

Apple Music Sing is accessible to subscribers of the streaming platform worldwide, and introduces a myriad of features including adjustable vocals, real-time lyrics, background vocals and duet view.
