There was a global cry when die-hard Attack on Titan fans learned that their beloved anime series was coming to an end in the fourth season. A cry so loud, that it collectively gave voice to the black hole sound that was recently recorded in the dark depths of space.

One of the best-selling manga series of all time, Attack on Titan, written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama, has sold over 100 million copies worldwide. Adapted into a TV series in 2013, it has gone on to receive a lot of love for its storyline, animation, action sequences, characters, voice acting (both original and dubbed), and dark themes.

Not to forget the soundtrack by Hiroyuki Sawano, which has accumulated 1,684, 214 monthly listeners on Spotify to date, for its raucous guitar solos and brash, operatic choral stylings that have contributed to the show’s cult status. The fourth and final season had a lot of remaining stories to fit in, from the manga into its TV episodes. It was initially supposed to be a two-part finale, but then it was announced that a third (and final?) part would be coming.

The Attack on Titan Season 4, Part 3 anime series is confirmed to be coming out in 2023. More information is expected to be announced during the Final Season Special Event on November 13, 2022. According to an announcement made via Twitter, an Attack on Titan musical is set to make its debut in January of 2023. At least for fans based in Japan, anyway: “The manga Attack on Titan by Hajime Isayama will be turned into a stage musical! Osaka: January 7-9 2023, Orix Theatre. Tokyo: January 14-24 2023, Nippon Seinenkan Hall.”

The world is a stage, and hopefully, while Japan is obviously the home of manga and anime, there is hope that the musical might get a world tour.
