BB Sabina crafts a captivating experience on her debut self-titled EP

Mparntwe (Alice Springs) based indie powerhouse BB Sabina confidently executes beautiful, warm music that’s drenched in rich guitar tones and emotional lyricism.

Drawing influences from the likes of PJ Harvey, Angel Olsen, and Melody’s Echo Chamber, her debut EP is a rich emotional journey, navigating the spaces between quiet contemplation and intense angst.

Alice Springs artist BB Sabina delivers an immersive experience on her debut self-titled EP that is drenched in intensity and sincerity.

Collaborating with ARIA-nominated, Australian Music Prize-shortlisted artist Evelyn Ida Morris on her previous single Motionless, BB Sabina continued to surround herself with some of the country’s best minds on her debut EP, with fellow Alice Springs artist Dave Crowe (Resin Moon) helming production duties.

On the EP, BB Sabina confidently navigates emotional struggle and personal enlightenment through the exploration of angst and release. Each track is an immersive experience, as her emotive lyricism encapsulates an intensity that is both warm and evocative.

BB Sabina displays her musical prowess and versatility throughout the EP, with each track displaying different levels of depth and moodiness, from the sincere balladry on Catharsis to the punchy guitar-driven tune Feast.

“The EP reflects on the creative process; inspiration, struggle and release,” says BB Sabina. “From the cathartic release I’ve experienced when songwriting, to the struggle that is involved in putting your art out there. And finally, the transcendent feeling that you can get when it all comes together, when the music hits you and you feel completely captivated for a moment.”

The charm of BB Sabina shines through in her captivating and immersive live shows, having previously performed alongside the likes of Tash Sultana and Ash Grunwald, as well as on stages at festivals including Wide Open Space, Darwin Fringe Festival and the Desert Song Festival. Performing both with her full band and solo on her upcoming Australian tour dates, she’s is gearing up for a busy second half of 2019.
