The Southern Hemisphere’s largest music conference is officially returning this year. BIGSOUND 2019 will take place from 3-6 September, taking place at its usual home in Fortitude Valley, but with a few changes from previous years.

This year’s BIGSOUND theme has been revealed as ‘The Artist As CEO’, acknowledging the shift towards artists being “truly in the centre of the industry, making empowered creative and business choices around their music.” We’re super excited to see how this one will develop.
Moving away from the usual digs at the Judith Wright Centre, BIGSOUND 2019 will be hosting most conference, meeting and media activity at Cloudland. Executive programmer Maggie Collins said of the change:
“Over the years, BIGSOUND has changed, with networking, workshops and other events becoming far more integral to the event, so making the move to Cloudland will give more programming flexibility as well as bringing the conference events closer to the live music that is at the heart of BIGSOUND.”
Both artist and tech applications are also open today, meaning any musicians who want to play the festival showcase and any companies who want to show off their audio and music tech are able to apply.
BIGSOUND has grown to become the largest music conference in the Southern Hemisphere, an unparalleled opportunity to get your music in front of managers, booking agents, publicists, media and tastemakers from all over the world.
