On Thursday, kick things off right with the Welcome to Country ceremony, a beautiful way to honour the traditional custodians of the land. Then, stick around for the heavenly RnB stylings of Nikki Hill, whose infectious energy is sure to get you grooving. Soak up some pure country with Lucinda Williams, then head to see Dog Trumpet, and don’t let their humble name fool you – the O’Doherty brothers are the original members of Mental As Anything, and are total legends.
As the sun sets, it’s time to crank things up a notch. Paulo Nutini takes the stage at 8:30, followed by the one and only Elvis Costello and the Imposters. You’ll need a hard-earned drink after that, but trust us – it’s only the beginning.
On day two, Frank Sultana kicks things off with his soulful blues, followed by the irrepressible Fools. But don’t dally at the food stalls – Robert Glasper is up next, and you won’t want to miss a single note. Steve Earle takes over the Delta stage at 4:30, paving the way for Keb Mo’s smooth stylings.
As the evening draws on, it’s a no-brainer to head over to Beck at 7:30. And if we have our way, we’ll stick around for the surprise act before rocking out with Gang of Youths at 10:30. Hell yeah indeed.
Saturday brings even more musical magic, with Jerome Williams and Hussy Hicks leading the charge. But make sure you’re at Crossroads for Buddy Guy, a true legend of the blues. And for us, it’s all about Counting Crows – because let’s face it, who can resist the allure of “Mr. Jones”?
Sunday is a day for soothing sounds and good vibes. Rockwiz kicks things off, followed by the Round Mountain Girls and Yirrmal. Refuel for Mavis Staples and Bonnie Raitt, two icons of American music. And don’t miss Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue over at Crossroads.
On Monday, ease into the day with Steven and the Seagulls, Backsliders, and Steve Poltz. Jon Stevens brings the vibes at 3:30, followed by a gorgeous acoustic set from Beth Hart. And then, it’s time to let loose with Michael Franti and Spearhead, lastly, spend the last night of what will have been the best 4 days of your life, with The Doobie Brothers.
