The Streets have released a documentary tracing the making of their new mixtape, featuring appearances from Slowthai, IDLES, Kevin Parker, and numerous others.
With appearances from Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, Slowthai, IDLES, Rob Harvey and many more. The new mixtape, which will be release in July, will be the band’s first full-length release since 2011’s Computers and Blues and mixtape Cyberspace and Reds. All of this follows The Streets frontman Mike Skinner reforming the project back in 2018 for a Greatest Hits tour.
The new album the band is working on is set to be released with a film. Skinner explained in an interview with the NME, “It’s almost like a follow-on from ‘A Grand Don’t Come For Free’ – that was my life without The Streets. That’s what this is; it’s about my life as a DJ but with The Streets removed. I haven’t shot anything yet, but we’ve decided to use real nightclubs. So we’re waiting for real nightclubs to happen again; if it’s not until 2021 then that’s when we’ll do it. The film’s just a caper, really; it’s a bit of fairytale, but a fairytale told in the real world.”
