In celebration of what would have been David Bowie’s 74th birthday, a virtual celebration is being held in honour of the Thin White Duke.
Next January would have marked the 74th birthday of the late David Bowie, and it’s just been announced that there’s a celebration in the works.
A Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day! will feature a star-studded lineup, including Nine Inch Nails‘ Trent Reznor, Smashing Pumpkin‘s Billy Corgan, Jane’s Addiction‘s Perry Farrel, and English actor Gary Oldman, in tribute to the beloved musical icon.
The livestream event, which was organised by David Bowie’s pianist Mike Garson, will also feature appearances from various musical collaborators, including longtime Bowie collaborator and famed producer, Tony Visonti, and members of Bowie’s various touring bands over the years.
“What we’re planning is an amazing show with the most talented musicians from every period of David’s career, as well as phenomenal artists from many different genres,” Garson said in a statement.
“We’ll hear different interpretations of David’s songs; some with totally new arrangements that have never been heard before.”
