Faye Webster announces new album, taps Lil Yachty for single ‘Lego Ring’

Lil Yachty joins forces with Faye Webster on Lego Ring, the first track lifted from Webster’s imminent new album.

Faye Webster has today (January 12) shared the first taste of her just-announced upcoming album, enlisting Lil Yachty for the lead single titled Lego Ring.

The single effortlessly blends the singer-songwriter’s proven flair for indie rock with the hip-hop stylings of Yachty, who provides a melodic vocal harmony on the brooding chorus.

Lego Ring also forefronts the country sounds Webster has mastered since her 2013 debut, while adding unique moments like punchy percussion, sharp piano and vocoder voice effects.

For his part, Yachty provides a sing-rap verse in the song’s latter moments, delivering acrobatic bars about a particularly ideal romantic pairing.

Lego Ring sees Webster ruminate on what she wants from a relationship, laying bare her intentions and what she “kinda needs.” It’s a welcome blend of bluegrass and pop, and ushers in what’s sure to be a stellar fifth album from the Atlanta folk singer.

The single is accompanied by an official music video, which was directed by Kyle Ng and follows Webster and Yachty as they play a video game designed by Ng himself.

Lego Ring forms part of the tracklist of Webster’s imminent studio album Underdressed At The Symphony, her fourth LP overall and the follow-up 2021’s I Know I’m Funny Haha.

Inspired by her list-minute visits to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, an event which Webster said in a press statement allowed her “be in this different world for a minute.”

She continued: “Going to the symphony was almost like therapy for me… I got to leave what I felt like was kind of a shitty time in my life.”

News of Webster’s album arrives ahead of the singer-songwriter’s forthcoming Australia tour, which will see her perform at all editions of Laneway festival in February as well as two sold-out headline shows of her own in Sydney and Melbourne.

Underdressed At The Syphony is set for release on March 1, but in the meantime, you can listen to Faye Webster’s new Lil Yatchy-assisted single Lego Ring below.
