Gabriella Raelyn tackles heartbreak with a twist in new single peace OR love

Los Angeles singer and producer Gabriella Raelyn, is set to release her captivating new single “peace OR love” – a mesmerizing blend of dream pop, synth-wave, and electro house.

Hailing from Los Angeles, singer and producer Gabriella Raelyn – FKA Gemyni – is set to release her new single peace OR love at the end of the month.

Including the artists self-coined terms ‘Neon Renaissance’ and ‘Ret-Romantic’, Raelyn pays homage to a multitude of genres with peace OR love, a darkened blend of dream pop, synth-wave and electro house.

Peace OR love channels MARINA and Lana Del Ray; an R&B inspired melodic verse with a dreamy, expansive chorus. Raelyn laments over a love that chars through her peace of mind, while alighting her heart.

It’s a serene soundtrack for a pleading siren call; desperation interlaced with acceptance. There’s a strength in the surrender, though still a pervading ache for things to be different.

The twist of Raelyn’s heartbreak is that there is no other person, just music itself. An hugely relatable dichotomy for anyone pursuing a dream – the love of the art or the peace of letting go.

This is a valuable take on an experience that many suffer through; the highs and lows of trying to ‘make it’ in any given industry, while sacrificing so much of our sanity in the process.

As the second instalment of her NEPHELE: ACT I project, peace OR love follows the precedent set by previous single wish upon a STAR, another exploration of Raelyn’s inner turmoil. Diaphanous and commanding, Raelyn’s voice is almost operatic in its emotion.

With an experimental edge, Raelyn merges the energy of her influences into something individual. Peace OR love remains stoic while the emotion cycles through its necessary stages. Cyclical drum beat and swirling, swelling synths lay the backdrop of Raelyn to purge her sentiment.

Through her lens of femininity, Raelyn constructs a world of romanticism with enough room for interpretation that any and all could apply it to several facets of their own experience.

This new era for Raelyn appears to be a step towards authentication; a shedding of old skin to release something grander. Raelyn’s music engenders the feeling of a greek goddess, finally coming into her power but refusing to do so at the expense of her honesty.
