It’s almost the weekend, chill out and absorb some Happy Listening. And let us take you through the best new releases of the week – singles, EPs, music videos, albums.

Thom Yorke – ANIMA

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has released another solo album ANIMA alongside a Netflix short film about the album.

ANIMA is experimental and contemplative with heavy production, as Yorke explores anxiety and dystopia like never before.

Body Type – Insomnia

Beloved Sydney-based garage rock outfit Body Type have released their new music video for dreamy tune Insomnia.

Filmed on an old ‘handycam’ that was all the rage back in the ’90s, the footage of the band was filmed whilst on their US tour earlier in the year.

Sunscreen – High Over Love

Sydney four-piece Sunscreen are back with High Over Love, their first single since 2017. The song explores themes of romantic idealisation and heartache, with frontwoman Sarah Sykes’ iconic voice telling the story wholeheartedly.

The single is the first taste of their upcoming EP, set to be released in August.

No Mono – Islands part 2

No Mono , Australian duo made up of Tom Snowdon (Lowlakes) and Tom Iansek (Big Scary/#1 Dads) have released the second half of their debut two-part album Islands.

Heavy in production, the album is a diverse collection of songs with varying levels of instrumentation and vocals. That said, it maintains an incredible energy and aura of anticipation throughout.

BENEE – FIRE ON MARZZ

Auckland pop sensation BENEE has released her debut EP FIRE ON MARZZ, a six-track journey bouncing with soulful energy and infectious melodies.

After just returning from Europe, the US and the UK, the 19-year-old singer is playing a sold out show in her hometown tonight in celebration of the release.
