With a thumping heart and pitch-perfect vocals, Amanda Tenfjord announces herself to the world. The 21-year-old, who hails from a small town in Norway, is quickly becoming the name on everybody’s lips.
Crafting hypnotic tunes with ethereal vocal work, Tenfjord still manages to inject sass and playfulness into her material. For her trouble, she’s already drawing comparisons to pop heavyweights such as Adele and London Grammar.

Now based in Trondheim, Amanda Tenfjord joins a sway of forward-thinking artists who call the city home. Her ambition appears to know no bounds, soaring as high as her powerhouse choruses.
With the release of her debut single First Impression, we catch a glimpse of what the future will hold for Tenfjord. Marked by some surprising sass, the track came to fruition with producer/composer Askjell Solstrand (Aurora, Sigrid).
Tenfjord explains the inception of the song, stating “In the beginning, it was about first impressions in general, and the impact they have on us – that initial moment where you make a picture of a person, or his/her life, without even consciously thinking about it.”
“We turned it around, and made it a little more ‘direct’ in its approach – how first impressions can be misleading,” she says. “Like when you meet someone who seems charming and fascinating and interesting, but then there’s just nothing beneath the surface.”
By October, Amanda Tenfjord’s EP is set to be melting minds. In the meantime, we can savour the bitingly beautiful sounds of her first single.
