Sydney-based musician, producer, and songwriter Zolton has released his spellbinding debut single When The Lights Come Up On New York City.
You might recognise Zolton, real name Zolton Zavos, as a member of now disbanded Sydney bands Lucid and Jetstream. After a stint in New York where he launched music and culture publisher Lost At E Minor, Zolton has returned to Sydney with new songs in tow.

Speaking about the single, Zavis shared:
“I wrote it about my first year living in New York when I met my now wife and we explored the city together fascinated by the whole energy of the place. I ended up living in New York for eight years, and they were the best years of my life.”
Upon his return to Sydney, Zolton sought out young producer Taka Perry’s ears to work on what would become When The Lights Come Up In New York City. Additionally he called in the pre-production talents of Michael Beinhorn (Soundgarden), plus Tony Hoffer (M83, Beck) on mixing duties and Ted Jensen for mastering.
The result is an upbeat hit that slams in all the right places, driven by some dynamite synth lines and vocal melodies straight out of the 1980s’ ‘best of’ playbook. You’ll be bopping along for days.
