Jada Pinkett Smith’s ex ‘entanglement’ August Alsina introduces new love

Two years after the ‘entanglement’ with Jada Pinkett Smith, August Alsina introduces his new love, and it has the world in a flutter.

The Smiths single-handily gave us two of the biggest catchphrases of 2022, ‘The Slap’ and ‘Entanglement’. August Alsina, who was at the centre of the latter, with Jada Pinkett Smith has shared that he has found true love.

During the final minutes of VH1’s The Surreal Life finale on Monday night, Alsina among other things candidly shared his thoughts on fear and of finding love.

The reality TV show, The Surreal Life, which Alsina wrapped last year, had a resounding effect on his life. “My life has become even more surreal,” adding that his life has “changed drastically” and that the show “has taught me, love in so many different forms and facets.”

“Love showed up. But in a new way. I want to share that and really honour the person that I love and that loves me back and is teaching me so much about loving and healing. I want to do that in front of the world because it defies all of the constructs that one would say love is supposed to be or love is supposed to look like.”

As he finished talking, a man walked in and sat beside him, and the two hugged. Despite him never saying so, many viewers took Alsina’s interview to be a “coming out” and believed he was introducing the world to a boyfriend.

The video has caused a lot of speculation in media, with people on socials identifying Alsina’s new love as a musician called Zu, who is actually Alsina’s brother, and others suggesting that Alsina has indeed ‘come out’ with a new love.

Alsina’s love life has been a topic of much discussion since revealing in 2020 that he had an affair with Pinkett Smith while she was married to Will Smith. The Smiths issued a statement denying the affair. Days later, in an episode of Red Table Talk, Pinkett Smith did go on to confirm the affair, calling it an “entanglement”. Which, if you google it means: a complicated or compromising relationship or situation. But that is another story.
