After dropping her glossy single What Do I Do in June this year, LA-based pop artist Kacy Moon has returned with the cheeky Cherry On Top.
Heavily influenced by who she deems to be the ‘badass women’ in pop music, Moon’s songwriting calls in the glittery vibes of Charli XCX, Ariana Grande, or Delta Goodrem. That being said, she no doubt adds her own touch.
Get yourself a much-needed pop fix with Cherry On Top, a bright new tune from Los Angeles singer/songwriter Kacy Moon.
The track bears all the features a bold, unforgettable pop song needs. Dynamic ‘oohs’, earworm lyrics, and a strong beat drive Cherry On Top straight to the sky; a radio-friendly package that will jam itself into your head and refuse to leave.
More delicate than the synth-heavy What Do I Do, Cherry On Top is perfect for the happy-go-lucky bedroom singalongs we should all be starting our days with.
Like the previous jam, Cherry On Top was recorded in Sydney’s Ringtail Studios after a chance encounter with homegrown producer Szabo.
The production is bright and polished, his touch evident in the bouncy percussion and well-crafted phrases. A minimal synth presence interjects the mix at key points in the rhythm, lending a fun feel to the danceable bop.
If you’re digging what’s coming out of Moon’s camp so far, you’ll have two more tracks to digest in the coming months.
