A Malawi man has died during a root with a sex worker, reportedly from “an extreme orgasm.”
Every now and then, I remember the extreme fact that orgasm in French literally translates to “the little death.” Every time, I become inconsolably confused and desperate to move to Paris. Today is one of those days folks, but this memory jogger hit like a truck.
A 35-year-old man passed out and died shortly after having sex in the trading district of Phalombe, Malawi. An autopsy determined his cause of death as “too much sexual excitement.”
Authorities, police and a medical examiner from Migowi Health Centre, confirmed his cause of death on August 18, 2020. The coroner’s report documented the cause of death as an “extreme orgasm which caused blood vessels in the brain to rupture.”

Police have announced that the woman will not be held liable for the victim’s death and no charges will be raised in relation to the death.

Before you swear off sex altogether though, there are studies that suggest getting frisky at least once a week cuts your risk of early death in half.
