The first full-length Netflix trailer for the upcoming Marilyn Monroe film, Blonde has arrived, starring Ana De Armas.
Netflix has shared their first official trailer for the highly-anticipated Marilyn Monroe film, Blonde starring Cuban-Spanish actress, Ana De Armas.
Directed by Andrew Dominik, the film centres around her life, fame and struggles during her impactful career as a 1950s and early 1960s actress, singer, model, sex icon and “blonde bombshell.”
Soundtracked by her 1953 hit, Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend, the captivating black-and-white trailer showcases the ups and downs of the global icon’s fast rise to stardom.
Based on the 1999 novel titled Blonde by Joyce Carol Oates, Marilyn (Ana De Armas) is seen in the trailer, speaking to her co-star Bobby Cannavale about how she got her start in films: “I guess I was discovered. I know you’re supposed to get used to it, but I just can’t.”
She continues, “I play Marilyn Monroe, Marilyn Monroe, Marilyn Monroe. I can’t face doing another scene.”
Blonde will be premiering at the Venice Film Festival at the beginning of September, and will release on Netflix later that month, on September 28. Watch the official trailer below.
