Miley Cyrus reveals she’s working on a Metallica covers album

Love it or hate it, country-singer-turned-pop star Miley Cyrus has revealed she’s working on a new Metallica covers album.

In news that is sure to send music fans into a spin, in a recent interview, Miley Cyrus let slip that she’s currently working on a Metallica covers album.

It comes after the American pop star offered up a cover of the band’s classic tune Nothing Else Matters last year at Glastonbury Festival.

“We’ve been working on a Metallica cover album and I’m here working on that,” Cyrus described to fashion designer Rick Owens in an Interview Magazine feature.

Reflecting on the coronavirus pandemic, Cyrus continued: “We’re so lucky to be able to continue to work on our art during all of this. At first, it felt uninspiring and now I’ve been totally ignited.”

Cyrus, not one to shy away from covers, has previously covering Pink Floyd’s Comfortably Numb, and more recently offered up renditions of The Cure’s Boys Don’t Cry and The Cranberries’ Zombie at #SOSFEST.

The responses to the news have been predictably mixed.

On a slightly different, but no less juicy note, elsewhere in the interview, Cyrus admitted that she’s previously had a run-in with a UFO.

“I was driving through San Bernardino with my friend, and I got chased down by some sort of UFO,” she described, before going onto clarify: “I’m pretty sure about what I saw, but I’d also bought weed wax from a guy in a van in front of a taco shop, so it could have been the weed wax.”

“But the best way to describe it is a flying snowplow,” she continued. “It had this big plow in the front of it and was glowing yellow. I did see it flying, and my friend saw it, too. There were a couple of other cars on the road and they also stopped to look, so I think what I saw was real.”

Someone get me the number for that wax weed, stat.
