Serek unveils the Grand bass guitar, complete with a built-in fuzz circuit

Stop everything, the bass just became cool again! Okay, it has always been cool. But never before has there been a bass that merges those sweet, juicy tones you’ve come to expect with grumbling fuzz, all in one flick of a switch — no batteries required.

That’s right, The Grand, a short-scale bass from Chicago-based builder Serek Basses, comes equipped with its very own fuzz circuit. The new passive ‘Skuzz Serkit’ allows the bass to “grumble and sputter and spit.”Serek Grand fuzz bass

Serek Basses’ latest design, The Grand, isn’t your average bass. With a striking look and a built-in fuzz circuit, it’s sure to be a rocker’s favourite.

The Grand boasts a poplar body with a TV Jones Thunder Blade pickup “known for its bold, warm, and full sound”. The bolt-on roasted maple neck with a“stability and sturdy tone” comes topped with hipshot Ultralite tuners and a Chechen fingerboard with the classic 21 medium/wide nickel frets. Topping it off with a Hipshot vintage-style bridge and a nitrocellulose finish.

But the ‘grand’ feature is the ‘Skuzz Serkit’. The onboard passive fuzz circuit is an original design from Serek that brings together the winning combo of warm and groovy bass and fuzz in one unit.
