Snail Mail reissues debut EP Habit with the addition of a bonus track

Lindsey Jordan, AKA Snail Mail, put herself on the map with her breakthrough EP Habit in 2016, which earnt her praise for her range of melodic ideas and intriguing emotionally charged lyrics.

Now, Snail Mail is reissuing the debut EP, with the addition of a bonus track and some colourful new cover art.

Snail Mail has reissued her breakthrough 2016 EP Habit on streaming platforms, with the addition of her Courtney Love cover as a bonus track.

Before sharing her debut album Lush last year, Snail Mail released her six-tack breakout EP Habit in 2016, which launched her career. Now, she’s re-releasing her debut EP via Matador and giving it a bit of a glam-up. The physical copies are set to arrive on the 30th of August and the digital edition is out now.

The re-issue features the six songs from the original EP, including the highlight track Thinning, as well as a bonus track – her cover of Courtney Love’s The 2nd Most Beautiful Girl in the World, which was previously an Amazon exclusive.

The album artwork has also been recreated by adding more colours to the original illustration, straying from the monochromatic red artwork of its first release.

In a 2016 interview, Jordan described the writing process of the EP, stating that “writing Habit was definitely all over the place and messy! Lots of writing songs in full and then throwing them away and putting down my guitar for weeks or months on end! Mostly the songs came from me being really upset or feeling a strong emotion (lots of crushing;) ) and letting myself wind down to a point where I could put my feelings into something more palpable.”
