This November, Stranger Sings: The Parody Musical will make its way to Melbourne, with more Australian cities to follow.
Launched earlier this year in Europe and the US, a musical parody of the hit TV series, Stranger Things will be making its way to Aussie shores in November of 2022, starting in Melbourne, and with further Australian cities to be announced.
Dubbed Stranger Sings: The Parody Musical, it is currently playing off-broadway in New York. Starting November 4, the show will make its grand debut at Melbourne’s Meat Market, with 12 dates in total running across the month. Grab your tickets here.
As announced by organisers, “direct from Off-Broadway, Salty Theatre is thrilled to announce the Australian premiere of the new smash hit, seven times award-winning musical, ‘Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical’. Take a trip back to Hawkins, Indiana, 1983: when times were simpler, hair was bigger, and unsupervised children were getting snatched by inter-dimensional creatures.”
The announcement continues, “Join Eleven, Dustin, Mike, Lucas and the whole Hawkins gang for a night of adventure, thrills, indulgent pop culture references, pubescent angst, heavy synth, poor parenting, convoluted love triangles, cheap effects, dancing monsters, and maybe, just maybe… justice for everyone’s favourite frumpy ginger, Barb Holland.”
