The characters of Wes Anderson’s films are so distinctly whimsical and eccentrically unique that they almost feel like the manifested recollections of childhood fantasies. Perhaps that’s why when you see them as LEGO figurines, it feels so right.
Check out these Wes Anderson characters reimagined as LEGO figurines, from The Grand Budapest Hotel‘s Zero Moustafa to Steve Zissou from The Life Aquatic.
In a tribute to the works of Wes Anderson, designer/illustrator Matt Chance created 20 LEGO characters for Spoke Art’s annual “Bad Dads” show back in 2014 – just after the release of Anderson’s most recent film, The Grand Budapest Hotel.
We only just came across them, but in light of the first footage of Anderson’s forthcoming film Isle of Dogs emerging, we thought we’d share them with you.
The figurines emulate characters from Anderson’s entire filmography from Zero Moustafa (The Grand Budapest Hotel) to Steve Zissou (The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou) to Mr. Fox (The Fantastic Mr. Fox).
Check them out below.
There are still prints avaliable too, if you’re interested.
