TikTok is giving indie fans a ‘wet dream’

TikTok has announced an indie first to stream Wet Leg concert as part of #AltMusic.

British band Wet Leg’s 24 November London concert is set to be live-streamed on TikTok 8.55 pm GMT

The Kentish Town show is currently sold out, but now fans can catch the live performance from their phones, or laptops. Hell, why not throw a party? It’s the first Livestream for TikTok’s ongoing #AltMusic initiative, which is focusing predominantly on alternative music.

The TikTok hashtag already has 1.2bn views of videos using it. TikTok UK’s artist community manager Sheema Siddiqi described next week’s stream as a “new live format” for TikTok, which hints at plans for more ahead.

The band, made up of Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, regularly post concert snippets and behind-the-scenes content for the community, which has earned them a legion of over 500k fans who love the group’s alternative sound.

Wet Leg currently has more than 530,000 followers on TikTok, notably more than they have on YouTube (154,000).
