Up-and-coming rapper, Pop Smoke, has been remembered by the music world after he was shot dead yesterday during a home invasion.
The rap community has today mourned the loss of American rapper Pop Smoke, who died yesterday following a home invasion shooting.
Pop Smoke, real name Bashar Barakah Jackson, was aged 20. He’s been recognised by the likes of Lil Nas X, 50 Cent, Nicki Minaj, Chance The Rapper, Questlove, and many more.
Pop Smoke emerged on the scene last year with his breakout single, Welcome to the Party, and has since released two mixtapes, one only dropping earlier this month. The rapper had collaborated with the likes of Travis Scott, with his music remixed by Minaj and Skepta.
Seen as a trail-blazer, Pop Smoke pursued a style which lay outside of east coast rap conventions. He has been cited as the leader of a scene known as Brooklyn drill, and was seen as an exciting new face for the Brooklyn rap scene. So far, the suspects have not been caught.
Rest Up Pop Smoke, you were too young. God Bless and comfort your family. What a crazy trajectory you were on man smh 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

The Bible tells us that jealousy is as cruel as the grave. Unbelievable. Rest In Peace, Pop.
