Willie Nelson has appeared as the musical guest on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert this week, in celebration of the annual weed day, 4/20.
The iconic country musician (and equally iconic stoner) performed the number 1 hit Hello Walls alongside his sons Lukas and Micah, a track he originally penned for Faron Young’s 1961 album of the same name.
Willie Nelson has performed the 1961 hit Hello Walls alongside his two sons on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in celebration of 4/20.
Nelson is infamous for his abundant weed smoking, even appointing himself chief tester at his own marijuana company halfway through 2019. Despite eventually quitting smoking weed at the end of last year (apparently the singer was experiencing breathing difficulties), he apparently still uses pot – just not by smoking it.
As well as appearing on The Late Show, on Monday Nelson also hosted a special Come and Toke It! live-stream to celebrate 4/20. The stream featured some special guests including Angel Olsen, Kacey Musgraves, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Morby, Margo Price, Hiss Golden Messenger, Ziggy Marley, and more.
This year was set to be a special event in the weed world, with the year 2020 marking an entire month of 4/20. However, the current coronavirus pandemic has put a dampener on things, but it seems weed-smokers everywhere have still found ways to celebrate.
