Before The King to host 2024 Your Mates Down South fundraising festival

Thunder Fox, Caitlin Harnett & the Pony Boys and more to perform at Before The King’s fundraising festival Your Mates Down South.

Your Mates Down South, the fundraising festival organised by band Before The King — has announced the lineup for its 2024 edition, with Caitlin Harnett & the Pony Boys and Thunder Fox appearing on the bill.

The music event will raise funds for GIVIT, a charity that directly distributes donations to flood and severe weather-affected communities in northern Australia.

Before The King are slated to perform at the festival, which will take place on March 16, alongside a six-artist lineup that also includes the Pony Boys, Thunder Fox, and Taj Ralph.

The bill is rounded out by alt-rockers Chaperone, Sydney band Organs and The Toothpicks. Your Mates Down South will take place at Sydney’s Factory Theatre from 4pm. Find more ticketing and event details here.

It comes as northern communities are still reeling from the effects of Cyclone Jasper — which hit Queensland last year and became the wettest cyclone in Australian history — as well as the still-ongoing devastation of Cyclone Kirrily.

Your Mates Down South 2024 will mark the event’s sophomore edition, following its sold-out debut at the Vanguard in March of 2022. That event raised over $3,000 to aid in flood relief for parts of northern Australia.

“We’ve watched heartbroken as the floods ravaged your homes, and destroyed your communities,” Before The King wrote of their inaugural festival in 2022.

“We can’t imagine what you must be going through right now, and hope it’s not too long before you can start rebuilding your lives.”
