‘Love, Lizzo’ doco: When and where to watch

Lizzo has dropped the trailer for her behind-the-scenes look at her larger-than-life journey to become one of the world’s most successful musical artists.

A natural born entertainer, in this new behind-the-scenes doco, the multitalented flute player, and singer-songwriter comes to life in front of the camera. With vibrant positivity, Lizzo has become the timely poster girl for sending body-positive messages of self-love.

Born Melissa Vivane Jefferson, Lizzo shares home videos, archival footage of her as a musically obsessed and driven teen, and behind-the-scenes glances into the recording process to document “the inspirational story behind her humble beginnings to her meteoric rise with an intimate look into the moments that shaped her hard-earned rise to fame, success, love and international stardom.”

The film is directed by Doug Pray (The Defiant Ones) and executive produced by the musician herself, under her company Lizzobangers.

“Nobody was trying to sign a fat, Black girl that rapped and sang and played the flute,” she continues. “It took so much hard work to get to where I am today, but I found my voice. Now, when people see me on stage, they see themselves.”

Love, Lizzo premieres November 24 on HBO Max America

Lizzo’s documentary “Love, Lizzo” will become available to Australian viewers on Nov. 25 on Foxtel’s Binge.
