It’s a good question, which is why we were relieved to hear the actor is in talks to be cast in the role of ‘himself’ in the upcoming meta-film Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.

The movie is said to be about a down-on-his-luck Cage attempting to score a desirable role in a Quentin Tarantino movie whilst simultaneously struggling with a ton of debt. His desperation leads him to performing at the birthday party of a Mexican billionaire who could very likely be the boss of a massive drug cartel. Amidst that mayhem, Cage is also trying to keep his teenage daughter happy.
This amount of hype and chaos is quite on brand for a Cage flick. He’s amassed a loyal fanbase who hang on every ridiculous role he chooses to sink his teeth into. Over his career, Cage has played some pretty out-there kinda characters, so it kinda makes sense that his public persona would be also pretty out-there and then he’ll be playing himself in a film.
