Ranking VIC Premier Dan Andrews’ most stressed faces during COVID-19

As we are all very aware by now, Victoria has been Australia’s coronavirus epicentre for quite some time now. There are many theories floating around regarding the origins of our second wave. Was it due to a lack of precautions, did we all ignore social distancing, or was that sneaky hotel rendezvous actually to blame? However it happened, there’s one thing for sure: no-one envies Premier Dan Andrews’ job right now.

2020 has been a stressful year in general, but in recent times, the Victorian Premier has been looking pretty burnt out. With each press conference, we receive new information on the pandemic and a fresh, angst-ridden expression from Andrews. It is prime meme-material in the making. Obviously these are very tense times and we at Happy are dedicated to doing all we can to spin some positivity out of a dire situation. Without further ado, here’s our curated collection of Dan Andrews’ most stressed-out faces. Please enjoy.

Victorian Premier Dan Andrews is facing a pretty tough job right now and it shows. Here’s a look at some of the Premier’s most stressed faces.

Just as other Australian states began to see improvements in coronavirus cases, Victoria were thrust back into some very hot water. On Monday, the state recorded 532 new cases: the worst day of infections the country has seen since the start of the pandemic, taking Australia’s death toll to 161. So yeah, this virus battle is sadly far from over.

Over these last few months, the Premier has been making an effort to increase public concern around the virus. Statements such as, “act on your symptoms, don’t ignore them” and “we have to work together to keep anyone who’s got symptoms away from work” demonstrate this. This is a whole lot more than we can say about U.S. President Trump, who still believes that COVID will magically “just disappear”.

Sadly, not everyone in Victoria is taking the Premier’s advice to heart. As a result, cases in the state are regrettably still rising and, naturally, this has caused Mr Andrews some visible stress. Below is a definitive ranking of some of the Premier’s most memorable expressions during COVID-19 press conferences, based on the level of anxious energy each photo gives out.

#5 – Not so much stressed, more curious and elusive. He’s probably choosing between KFC or Maccas for lunch.
