Soccer Mommy announces headline Australian tour for 2023

Indie darling, Soccer Mommy armed with the new album Sometimes, Forever, returns to Aussie shores for the first time since 2019.

Soccer Mommy has announced an upcoming Australian tour, slated for February of next year. The US singer-songwriter — known offstage as Sophie Allison — Soccer Mommy’s forthcoming tour encompasses four headline shows, beginning with a set at Brisbane’s The Triffid venue on February 17.

Allison will then perform at The Croxton Bandroom in Melbourne the following evening (February 18), before two successive dates at  Sydney’s Factory Theatre and Adelaide’s Fat Controller from February 21.

While she’s in town, Soccer Mommy will also venture to Western Australia, where she features on the musical program of Perth Festival’s 2023 edition alongside the likes of Bjork, Julia Jacklin and Bon Iver, among others. Upon her arrival, Soccer Mommy’s Australian tour will mark her first appearance in the country since 2019, when she performed satellite shows as a part of that year’s Falls Festival lineup.

Since then, Soccer Mommy has released two new albums which are sure to comprise the Australian tour setlist, including 2020’s colour theory and this year’s Sometimes, Forever. The former record was previewed with the singles bloodstream and circle the drain, and was described in a glowing Happy Mag review as proof that the indie darling “continues to kick ass.”

Meanwhile, arriving in June 2022, Sometimes, Forever was helmed by Daniel Lopatin, who has elsewhere produced for the likes of The Weeknd, FKA Twigs and Charli XCX. Soccer Mommy performed tracks from that record during her debut performance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in April, and later achieved chart-topping status with its number one placement on the US Heatseekers Albums Chart.

Tickets to Soccer Mommy’s 2023 Australian tour will go on sale to the general public tomorrow (November 9). Scroll down for more ticketing info, as well as venue details and showtimes.
