The Jungle Giants are a four piece indie-rock band who hail from Brisbane and formed in 2011. The group includes singer-guitarist Sam Hales, lead guitarist Cesira Aitken and bassist Andrew Dooris and they all attended Mansfield State High School. They also share members with Confidence Man.
Soon after, Keelan Bijker jumped on as drummer and the band released their self-titled debut EP. In 2012 the band signed to Create/Control and released their second EP She's A Riot, of which the lead single scored 83rd on the Triple J Hottest 100 2012.
In May 2013 The Jungle Giants released their debut album Learn To Exist. To celebrate they toured Australia which was extended due to popular demand with added shows in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne as well as headline performances at Splendour In The Grass and Spin Off Festival.
They have since released two more studio albums – Speakerzoid and Quiet Ferocity – which have all received widespread acclaim.
Perhaps the band's greatest success thus far has come from a single. Released in July 2019, the song Heavy Hearted finished at number 8 in the Triple J Hottest 100 in 2020. What's more, it was vindication of lead singer Sam Hales' talent in the studio - he produced, recorded and mixed the track.
