JODY is a young gun collective straight out of Sydney’s talent-rich Inner West.
The boys have been killing it live since they broke out, sharing the stage with some of Australia’s best acts – Spiderbait, Last Dinosaurs and Bluejuice to name few. A week ago JODY teased out the first single from their upcoming EP What Is Wrong With You Today?
The single, titled Missing You Around, a playful mix of head-nodding chords and seriously catchy lead guitar lines. The vocals are simple, but they’ll stick in your head with the same vitality as the catchiest tunes around.
JODY’s single Missing You Around is playful and catchy, a sure hit for these fun-loving Inner Sydney musos
We caught up with the four Sydney boys to congratulate them on the release, and asked them to put forward their favourite local acts at the moment – and to recommend a track from each…find out what the band said below:
Australia
There’s not many things as wholesome as an Australia show, always so joyous. Also Nick Franklin made our record, what a legend.
Julia Jacklin
What a great voice, what great lyrics. Really starts to wear you down emotionally around the first chorus, in the best way possible.
Jonti
The king of beautiful. Everything he’s ever touched is just perfect.
Fields of Mars
The realest band in Sydney (in my eyes). With such pure, filthy, sexy funk grooves, you can’t help but fall in love with their magic.

Hunch
Great live band, a real attitude to them and I love how many lyrics they try and fit into the verse of this song:

Big White
Most bands are lucky to have one great songwriter, and Big White have three.

Winston Surfshirt
Really chilled out vibes, standout hip hop artist from Sydney, really like the J Dilla influences in the beats.
Sticky Fingers
Legends.
