Needle In The Hay hopefuls have just over three weeks to throw their hat in the ring for Australia’s largest independent music competition.
It’s been a whirlwind of a Needle In The Hay season for Happy, as thousands of budding musicians have submitted their tunes in the hopes of becoming the winner of Australia’s largest independent music competition.
This year’s batch of hopefuls is perhaps our most competitive yet, but for those still looking to throw their hat in the ring to be crowned with the much-coveted title, there’s still time!
We can officially announce that entries into Needle In The Hay 2024 close on March 22. That’s just over three weeks for musicians to polish off their tunes and submit them for consideration in this year’s competition.
For those who might need a little push, we’ll point you towards our voluminous range of prizes, which come courtesy of an extensive range of partners spanning apparel, food and drink, and of course music.
The lucky winner of Needle In The Hay, and indeed the second and third place-getters, will need a U-Haul for the amount of prizes they’ll score, from beverages courtesy of The Kraken and Heaps Normal to Brixton’s premium apparel.
Of course, perhaps the shiniest prize for budding artists is Needle In The Hay’s dazzling audio and music prizes, from the top-notch gear of Fender, Grover Allman, Expressive E and SONY, among many others.
To top it all off, finalists will this year have their music heard by what is perhaps Needle In The Hay’s starriest judging panel yet.
Musicians like Ben Lee and Andy Golledge form part of the panel, alongside media personalities like Abbie Chatfield, Emmy Mack and Ash McGregor.
They’ll all put their minds together from March 29, when this year’s Needle In The Hay finalists are officially announced. As for the winner, well their crowning ceremony will be on April 5.
